Lovely people like that make me the hermit that I am!

I am in the suburbs of a good sized city in Virginia, on the east coast of America. Lovely, indeed...but I only like one neighbor. She and I share veggies and herbs from our gardens, and laugh about life when we run into each other.

Other than that, there are many people who are nervous because their children want to play in our yard. (We have the BEST climbing trees for little children, crepe myrtles!) We don't mind it at all, but since we are young and have no children of our own, people seem to get nervous when we talk to their children.

It is sad when neighbors can't communicate because of fear of the unknown. Ah well. I want to move out to the woods! :)

I hope to visit France someday. It seems so beautiful! Enjoy your berries!Amber Pixie Shehanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03141550937263479377noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4244764788426166409.post-66726668020606052572008-08-20T06:24:00.000-07:002008-08-20T06:24:00.000-07:00Good for you! You never know what might become of it with folk like that...

I had to report our similarly lovely neighbour to the police for loitering and spying on my family. The police obviously thought I was batty because no one else had made similar complaints.

They did however speak to him after I voiced the fear that if the children got used to that type of unfriendly behaviour from a harmless type; the next one mightn't be quite so harmless!

He behaved himself for a while, but I still see him every now and again but the children are older now and less vulnerable than they used to be!

Enjoy your Bramble and Apple Crumble! I'll be off to pick mine soon and like you I intend to fill the freezer!Polly Piercehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02883722242152834154noreply@blogger.com
